I recently installed an aftermarket cooler (hyper 212 Evo with mx-4 thermal paste) and overclocked my x4 870k to 4.4 GHz with a voltage of 1.4625, thermal margins on AMD overdrive lays around 41.5 degrees under half an hour of prime95. I was just wondering, what is the max temperature of the x4 870k (without it throttling), so I know what a safe thermal margin is for this CPU. Or what is max safe thermal margin for this CPU?

Another thing: is it safe to push my AsRock fm2a78m-hd+ further than 1.475 volts so i can overclock my CPU to 4.5 GHz?

Solution
If you are checking with AOD, it's safe as long as it's above 0c, anything over 10c is great. That's why it's called "Margin" or how far from throttling point.
