I bought the 7700k yesterday over the Ryzen 1700 because all benchmarks shows it does better in BF1 at 1440p. If i saw otherwise I would have gotten the Ryzen cpu. Also, I don't stream, so I don't need extra cores. If you want to stream the game then I would lean towards Ryzen. With that said, I can't wait to finish my new build and compare it to my old cpu.
You sure? Because he is asking about 1440p not 1080p.

Now if you are not planning to OC any want to play on 1080p then yes the 7700 better.

Cool. thanks. You cited two sources I have never heard of before. And seem to have little to no following.
I'll share reputable sites:

Will sorry to disappoint you:
1- BF1 is one of the games that love more cores, and in a hell load of videos on YouTube the Ryzen CPUs usage was around 50% while the 7700 is setting at 100%.
2- If you look closely on the benchmarks setup you will see that te RAM used for the 7700 is 3200Mhz while Ryzen is 2933MHz, the link below as well shows the 7700 is better because different RAM speeds where used.

3- PaulsHardware refused to benchmark the games sent by AMD that included BF1, which is enough a proof who is better for games that love more cores.
But all reviewers agree on one thing, BF1 is a game that work better with more cores if you are targeting high in-game presets.
