Considering these specs what is my build capable of
Amd ryzen 1600 3.8 ghz
Asus prime b350M-4
2gb geforce gtx 1050
1TB sata drive
500w aero cool
Arctic freeze pro
16gb Kingston ddr4 2133mhz
Get the cheapest Ryzen, and RX470 or similar instead. It will be way faster in gaming, and with 4GB of VRAM will play all games properly and at high or very high quality settings. R5 1400 OC will be fine in this configuration for ~3 years- and then can be upgraded to latest Zen+.
Here are benchmarks for RX470 vs GTX1050Ti- a card much faster than GTX1050: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SEf0pi3uWc
MERGED QUESTION Question from James_471 : "Is this psu bad"
James_471 :
So my build
Amd ryzen 1600 3.8 ghz
Asus prime b350M-4
2gb geforce gtx 1050
1TB sata drive
500w aero cool
Arctic freeze pro
16gb Kingston ddr4 2133mhz
Apparently the psu is bad? And can either cause fires or be a smoke brick
IS this true?
CTurbo :
Yes it is not a great psu. It is possible that it could fail and break some of your other parts yes. As for starting a fire, it is possible, but not likely.
SkyBill40 :
Any PSU failing could lead to a multitude of additional problems. I'd suggest you do some research on this site and see what works for your power needs and price range. There's a lot out there and quality varies.
I'd buy any you recommend just to prevent my build breaking/blowing up
