GTX 1080 i7 7700k with Corsair Builder VS650

Solution
Yes, you'll be fine. I have a 7700K, GTX 1080 and a Corsair VS650 and I've had no issues at all with power, and thats with both my 1080 and my 7700K overclocked. The GTX 1080 is a surprisingly power efficient card.

You wont have any issues, but I would suggest maybe going for something slightly higher in case you ever want to upgrade later on, otherwise the VS650 is fine.

Hi - Putting aside whether the VS series PSU will work or not. Consider that it is a bottom end unit and
is not commensurate with a sys that has a gtx 1080 & 7700k. It's like buying a Ferrari and getting
the tires at Walmart.

I'd be very reluctant to use a bottom end PSU with higher end GPU/CPU's.

Not really. It's not one of the low-end firestarters, but it's best suited for very budget builds, with poor quality capacitors and looser voltage regulation than one would expect today. On your $300 office PC? Sure. With a $300 CPU and a $450 GPU? Those parts call for cleaner, safer, power.
