Hello if any genius could please help id be greatly appreciative.

Right so from Friday the 14/04 my internet speeds have all of a sudden gone from 6-8mbps to 0.80-0.06 mbps and thats not the worse bit the constant drop outs make using the internet impossible.

i have been in contact with my ISP called TPG many occasions yet they cant seem to resolve this and i feel like i am being messed about here are all my updates:

- Call TPG and they do over the phone test and say the line is fine but we can see you have slow internet and constant drop outs.

- TPG send out engineer to the exchange to check for faults and fix.

- TPG call me and say the line as been fixed please do these tests with me to check internet speeds, reset hub bla bla bla still no change TPG escalate for technician to come to house.

- TPG technician comes to house resets my router and tests the line over the phone with TPG still no progress so they then escalate to telstra (The owners of all broadcasting)

- Telstra technician comes to house and looks around and says he cant find the connections box i need to find and gain access then arrange for another technician to come and fix. (massive waste of time)

- I located the connection box behind unit 1 i am in unit 3 the owner of the unit only speaks russian google translate helped alot here yet a few miss understanding moments he shows me box and says internet and phone done.

- Telstra technician is scheduled to come out on Wednesday the 26th

Please help me resolve this issue myself because these ISP are a complete waste of time and i cant stand not having internet for this amount of time.

THANK YOU

I would check with the technician via through phone while he is in your home.
I have a odd feeling that something isn't being done properly without proper supervision.
http://www.techist.com/forums/f44/ look for a guy named corrosive to help you out.
He should be able to give you better insight into the problem.
What router brand name and model number do you have by chance ?
Are you connecting via through ethernet cable throughout the building or wireless nic card ?
Name of the wireless nic and model number if possible too.

Has your internet speed ever dropped like this suddenly in the past ?

Thanks for the reply maikutech

Its a huawei model is: HG532d

I am connected wireless to the router but plugging the laptop in makes no change to speeds

Since being at this house it have never had this issue in the 6 months we have been here.

Its strange because over last couple days it has improved we have not been getting many drop outs and speeds are up to 1mbps-2mbps and getting downlod speeds of around 160kbs to 200kbs but that is so so bad compared to the 6-8mbps and 1mbs download

Do you have anything near the router, like a 2.4ghz cordless phone, or anything electronic ?
Do you have alot of things in your home blocking a clear signal to the router ?
Reason why I ask you, because normally these 2 things will cause the internet speed to drop out.
If none of those 2 are the issues, the links above would be a better way to start out new and fresh.
The only thing I don't like about all in 1 routers, they are problematic.
If your isp is offering dsl and cable, ask them about opting in for cable modem only.
If you use celluar services, let that be your main private number, least your knocking out one problem you don't need.
