Strange problem with starting my computer

For last couple months I have had to completely reset the bios whenever I turnoff and restart or wake my computer from sleep. If i just do a restart from windows and it doesn't completely power down it starts back up just fine. Once I get it running it runs fine with out any problems until I turn it off again. I originally thought it was a motherboard problem and rma'd the motherboard (asus z97 gamer pro) because the thing wouldn't even boot with both stick of memory installed. When it was returned it would work with the memory but still had to be reset whenever I fresh started it or put it into sleep mode. So the next thing I tried was a different power supply. The original was a corsiar rm1000 and the one I put in was a evg850. With the evga it wouldn't even boot after shutdown or sleep and would make a clicking noise. So I pulled it apart thinking I might have a short somewhere and put it together one piece at a time retesting if it would start up each time until I got to my video card(evga 980ti hybrid) which I'm guessing is the culprit as it will boot fine into windows without it and but not when it is installed. Even moving it to the other 2 pcie slots didn't make a difference. It's still under warranty and I've been thinking of upgrading to a new 1080ti anyways but was just wondering if any of you more knowledgeable people out there might have any other suggestions I might try before going that route and I do not wanna be with out my comp for another 2-4 weeks. Ive also replace the cmos battery just to be safe even though the original one still tested good for a charge.

Solution
Test your gtx980 tested in another computer or have a computer shop run a test on it for a day.
If it boots up fine elsewhere it maybe the motherboard again and probably the pci-e x16 maybe faulty.
The only way to find out for sure though is grab an old video card and test it on your asus mobo.
