How much of an FPS increase will i get with 7700k/3000mhz ram?

So i've been playing ME:A recently, and in some areas my gtx 1070 is really struggling to maintain 60fps while only hovering around 65% usage. Now, this isn't unexpected as i did chuck the poor thing into a pre-built with a 5 year old I5 and 8gb of 1333 ram. It's obviously being bottlenecked hard by my current system.

My question is, how much of in improvement can i expect to see when my 7700k, and 16gb 3000mhz ram arrive?

will going from 65% usage to 100% be a significant? If i still can't hit 60fps in ME:A with a $2k aud machine i'm honestly just going to give up PC gaming forever.

Thanks.

Chances are good you won't be seeing 100% usage at all. You'll still be seeing the same 65% usage. That's as much graphics need that game has from the 1070. What's missing is the fps being held up by the ram mostly and some by the i5, but even that's not the i5's fault, it's on the mobo's inability to feed the i5 the data fast enough. This could also stem from hdd usage, if the game is reliant on data transfer from hdd cache not ssd cache.

As to how much fps this move would make, that's impossible to determine. By use of the i7, 16Gb of ram at 3000MHz, you better have an SSD for boot drive, all you are doing is opening up the pc for maximum ability and removing the cpu from any consideration of bottleneck. After that, it's all on the gpu, your settings, the monitor resolution, frequency etc.

But it will go up a fair bit for sure.

Thanks, i never play games at ultra settings so i'm hoping i can keep above that 60fps limit.

Right now at mostly med - high settings i'd say about 60% of the time i'm above 70fps, and the other 40% i'm struggling to even reach 45fps. I'm guessing (praying) those low fps areas are the CPU heavy spots that the 7700k and new ram will dominate.

So i did the upgrade, and so far at least in Andromeda, the FPS increase is massive. In those troubled spots where i was struggling to maintain even 45fps, i'm now around 65-75fps minimum. Couldn't be happier.
