The files do copy, but are not showing up in my PC, but if i connect again to my laptop it shows up.....it is somehow hidden in my PC, help me out please...

If you have an OS on that HDD already when transferring files, I feel that it is likely that your laptop might have (already asked to) made a new partition when you initially connected it to transfer those files back. You might have transferred those files to that partition and looked in the wrong place for it. If you open up "My Computer", do you see multiple drives? You can also check what partitions you have on your HDD through the disk management from your control panel.

i placed one file from my laptop to my HDD( after installing new OS on it) into local disk e and specifically into a folder( which has other files on it too) all these are displayed on my Laptop but when i connect back to my PC...all the files in the folder on the disk e are showing (where i copied that file from my lap) but that copied file alone is missing
