Is there anything wrong with my build? + Will it support a new graphics card?

My current build:
i7-2600k (not over clocked) water cooled
GTX 580
Gigabyte G1.Sniper 2
HyperX ddr3 ram 2x4GB
750w ocz psu
Corsair 750d case

will I be able to upgrade my graphics card to a 980ti?

Your stock 2011 sandy bridge i7-2600K is equivalent to a current day 2017 kaby lake i5-7400. Your Corsair 750d is a full tower, so there are no spacing issues. I admit that I know nothing about OCZ power supplies, therefore I googled it.

Jonnyguru: OCZ ZT 750W Power Supply

* I found a 2011 review from 5 1/2 years ago, that gave a general recommendation. It would not be my personal power supply of choice, but who am I to disagree with jonny.

My only question is, why a 980 Ti, instead of a new and slightly faster GTX 1070? What price can you get the 980 Ti for and which specific manufacturer and model number?

Without a doubt get the 980ti. Normally as a 980ti owner I don't suggest it but if the price is right....get it. Pairing it with your Sandy Bridge cpu will do well...I know cuz I too am on Sandy Bridge.

just remember some board like x68 had issues with some 900 series cards may work out of the box , may need a bios update to support the latest cards like 900 series and up some found no support at all

google z68 and gtx 970 to see some on that not hard to find and see some hoop jumping could be involved [then notice how many had sandy chips used ? ]
