We live in mountain community. We get 22mbps to the moden in my office. down stairs. I get 15 - 16 mbps upstairs from router. this works fine for ipads etc.. I have a smart Samsung tv. We like to watch live streamed church service. The tv doesn't seem to be able to process the wifi signal fast enough as it times out before we get the program. Should i consider running a 150 ft ethernet cat 5 cable from moden downstairs direct to tv? Are there other options?

When you have many user/clients, users will invariably use up any available bandwidth you throw at it. Toward that end, it's better to have some kind of QOS in your LAN to better administer individuals bandwidth requirement.

Since you are mentioning Internet, I assume your stream servers are across the Internet. So yes you are constrained, primarily, by the Internet pipe.

Of a secondary concern, yes WIFI maybe imposing a bottleneck on you, and toward this regard, yes, ethernet will solve this particular problem. It's up to you to run some speed tests to see whether you are saturating your WIFI.
