So I have an R9 290 and I always had it on default clock speeds. (947 Core, 1250 Memory).
However, I yesterday updated MSI Afterburner to the latest version. Since then, whenever I change my profiles, the program changes the clock speed to 1040Mhz and memory to 1350Mhz.
I keep trying to reset but whenever I hit apply, it changes them back to 1040/1350. I tried changing the 2D/3D profiles but the same thing happened. I tried checking HWInfo64 to see if my core clock is truly at 1040 and it was.

Anyone knows what the hell is going on?

(BTW the only difference between the two profiles that I use is the fan speed. I have 35% for idle and 51% during gaming Since yesterday it overclocked both profiles without me doing anything).

Solution
Do a full uninstall of the msi afterburner followed by a clean uninstall of the amd driver. Then do a install of the latest amd driver from amd website. After install, make sure the watt man page remain at default by not clicking accept. Then download the latest version of the msi afterburner. try if this helps
