Hello, how can i figure out if my motherboard or the psu isn't working?

what is your exact problem?

the question is hard to answer this way, when something doesn't work, well, it doesn't work so you try another to discard one or the other

yes, try another psu on the mainboard

if ti boots, it is the psu, if it doesn't it is the mainboard

also try the psu on another pc, both could be dead

is more usual that a bad psu kills a motherboard than the other way

but sadly it is not 100% guaranteed
