FIrst off sorry if this is the wrong place but I searched vmware saw this is where another guy posted so I'm copying it, heres my problem.

am in the network settings IPv4 I have followed the youtube setup videos, I have my server running installed vmware 6.0 iso now am setting up the Ipv4 settings and DNS, I plugged the ethernet cable from the modem to the server and the videos told me just to make the IP address's like 10.0.0.50 etc , so when I do this and save the settings than go to command prompt and ping I just get request timed out, how do I set the Ipv4 settings , I disabled ipv6, and what do I set the DNS server to, please help I just want to complete this so than I can log into the server with vsphere client, sorry im new to this bought my first server

if you need anymore information just let me know , I did my best to explain lol pics are below, thanks so much just wanna finish this configuration , have spent an hour trying different IP's and none would ping lol

I just need to know how to find the IP address and DNS information to input so when I try to ping the server it responds, I have an ethernet plugged into the server.
