Not too great with computers, but here's what I could find about my hardware:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Memory: 16GB DDR3 (4 SO-DIMM slots supports up to 32GB)
Found what I could about the hard drive, sorry: wdc wd7500bpkx-80hpjt0
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64 Bit
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M - PCI bus 1 (don't know if that's helpful)
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. G750JX

I just want a fairly cheap way to increase my computer's performance with video games. I've tried doing research myself and just have not been able to find what to get to upgrade my computer most efficiently. I've looked into getting a new RAM but I'm having trouble finding out what specific type would be best.

Thanks in advance :)

Well, you have a laptop, an asus G750JX model ( https://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-G750JX/specifications/ ) from the looks of it. Unfortunately, laptops aren't very upgradable. Pretty much the only thing you can do easily is add ram, and that's not going to increase gaming performance so I wouldn't recommend it.

It costs nothing to increase your gaming performance is to overclock the GTX 770M, but you will have to be careful with its temperature and probably have to keep the fans at max all the time.

Best thing to do if you want to upgrade in the future is sell the laptop and build a PC, and that's all the advice I've got. Maybe somebody else will have a better suggestion.
