Hi all,
I recently installed 2 msi gtx 970's in sli to my pc. Im loving the performance but sadly i cannot get any audio in battlefield 1 or mass effect andromeda. However, i am getting audio when running haven benchmark so its not a problem with audio cutting out under load (if thats even a thing)
I used to run a different gtx 970 (palit blower style cooler) and the audio would work perfectly with it. That leads me to beilieve its the new gpu's but i have no proof.
If i tab out of the games all other audio works perfectly fine, even while in the games steam messages do play the appropriate sound perfectly fine.
Could it just be the games have separate sound issues or could it be something with my pc?
I have tried everything i can think of with the games (except stuff that causes a fair bit of hassle as I thought its most likely me being a numpty) i could reinstall them but i would prefer not to. Anyone got any ideas???

Do a clean install of the nvidia drivers from their website. Make sure your playback device is set to the correct source.

I found out the problem was that the sound was by default outputting to the monitor but as It has no speakers no sound could be heard.
I tried removing the monitor as an audio device so that the games did not output to it but it reappeared after reboot sadly.
Instead I decided to just plug in my speaker system to the monitor's audio jack.
Thanks
