What is the differance between these HDD's?

Solution
Seagate drive [ST3000DM008] has the same amount of noise, "Volume: 27 dB(A) (in operation), 26 dB(A) (idle)",

Actually, 27 dB(A) in operation and same on idle is pretty quiet for a HDD.

For example, a common desktop PC's HDD, WD Caviar Blue 1TB [WD10EZEX] produces 30 dB(A) in operation and 29 dB(A) on idle,

I got one WD10EZEX in my Skylake build and two of them in my Haswell build (full specs in my sig). Since HDD is inside the PC case, i can only hear my HDD when it's in operation and that too barely. My case fans, in the other hand, are far noisier than...

But if you want loud then look towards Noctua industrial fan that produces 41,3 dB(A) at 3000 RPM :D,
