My friend's PC (MSI 970A-G43 mobo, WD Blue 1 tb HDD, windows 7) cannot get past the "Starting Windows" screen. It freezes, then the monitor loses signal input, then we are prompted to enter the BIOS.

The boot device priority order in the BIOS is set correctly, with the HDD first.

We tried unplugging and replugging the SATA and power cables, and used different cables to no avail. We don't have an extra HDD to swap out for troubleshooting.

Here is one of the error messages: http://imgur.com/a/AT5RO

Disconnect the dvd drive and remove any usb devices that are plugged into the computer, including keyboard/mice and try to boot. If this is successful, add one device at a time, rebooting after adding each one, and see if you can find the culprit, which would obviously be the one that you plugged in right before the issue started.

Does this WD have on-board/curcuit-level encryption? If yes, I think this other computer is going to need DriveLock (whether passworded or not passworded).
I might be missing the mark here; please update us as to your progress.
