Hey, I built my PC about 3 years ago. The last few months if had this issue where my PC shuts off for no reason. Now, ive eliminated the common issues. Ive started to examine one piece of my hardware at a time. I have Ram in slot 1 and 3. I removed Ram 3 in slot 3 and the issue persisted. So I swapped the ram and put Ram 3 in slot 1 and left slot 3 open and the issue hasn't happened in about 5 days.(normally happened everyday) So my question to you guys is can Bad Ram or a Bad Ram Slot cause my PC to shut off unexpectedly? I just want to make sure I get to the root. Thanks!

Yes, you're basically doing the right thing at the moment by trying ONE memory module at a time.

Either memory module is faulty, or a memory slot is faulty, or maybe both!

Try ONE module at a time and in different slots. This will help determine whether a module and/or a memory slot is faulty.

Another thing is to check that the CPU hasn't been accidentally bumped out of alignment a bit, which might cause contact issues and lead to memory and other issues. Make sure the CPU is mounted firmly and evenly.
