Hey guys, I have a logitech g302 mouse which seems to double-click intermittently by itself when i single click. I have run a few test and confirmed that it is double clicking by itself since my old acer standard USB mouse isn't doing the same thing. Could the logitech mouse have only 1.5 years life span in it? Or am i having some kind of driver problem here?

• Make sure that the button's portion is clean. No dirt, dust or obstruction that may affect on the performance of it. Apply compressed air if necessary.
• Drain all the static energy on your mouse.
1. Turn the mouse on and remove the batteries
2. Press the left and the right button repeatedly for a minute
3. Put the batteries back in and wait a few seconds to re-connect and test the mouse
• Re-seat to another USB port. Bypass the use of KVM switch boxes, port replicators, docking stations, and USB hubs if any.

• Un-pair / Re-pair the mouse to its receiver. For more instructions, https://support.logitech.com/en_us/article/23116
• Uninstall Logitech Setpoint and other third-party applications which is capable of configuring mouse actions (MS Intellipoint, SteerMouse, USB Overdrive, etc.)
• If possible, try to use the mouse on another computer for further testing.
If the issue carries on two different computers, then please proceed in contacting Logitech Technical Support for your warranty status and assistance.

Thanks for your reply, I have done most of that and still there's was an issue, and so I recall that the problem started after installing an 'intel usb 3.0 extensive host controller' (if I'm not mistaken). After uninstalling the software, so far it is working normally again. So I guess a new mouse can be postponed, but what do you think of this as I am very interested to know how installing an intel certified driver could cause such a trouble.
Quick update, I fixed it but it remained fixed for 12 hours or so. because now it seems to be happening intermittently again. Fresh installs of driver all around. I think I'll just get a new mouse and be rid of this. Any thoughts from you gurus about a logitech g102?(also known as logitech g203 prodigy)

i guess its not software's issues,problem is in the switch.omron switches have these issues of double clicking.b4 suggesting,i have to give a bit of info
switch usually works by it's laser emitters and receivers.a small part of leafspring(which is a an imprtnt part of switch)stands between emitter and receiver.when we click the switch,then it gets off and emitter emits the laser,receiver receives and mouse gives signal to ur pc.that small part of leafpring,when it gets damaged anyhow,causes the double clicking.u just have to open the chassis of switch very very carefully and bend that smaller part of leafspring to avoid the malfunction.then you'll b able to prevent double clicking issue.i hope it'll work

Thanks for the explanation, well I did see in some forums that by doing that fixes the auto-double clicking.. which is surprisingly more annoying than I thought it will be, unfortunately I can't really get the chassis open and my new mouse has already arrived so I guess I'll just keep this as a spare mouse and hope it will fix itself after being placed in the shelf
Also I want to note that if I keep the button depressed longer than usual it doesn't double click as often.. Thanks for all your help guys!

Just made an account to thank you, opening the mouse was easy "g302" found the chassis switch for left mouse click opened it somehow with no damage lol, the tricky part was the leafspring spent one hour carefully adjusting it and trying to mount it back in the switch was hell of jop
use youtube to see "Double click problem: How to fix faulty mouse button" helped alot.Thanks +1
