What to upgrade in my PC ?

Hello dear community.
So my PC is 3 years old and I see it starts to struggle in some games (I will post details down below) even on low settings sometimes.
I got an I5 4670 (Not K) CPU, quad core 3,4 and 3,8 boosted.
The GPU is an R9 270X (Not overclocked), 2GB VRAM.
I got a 1 Terra Hard Drive but I don't have an SSD.
8GB of DDR3 RAM and Windows 10.
So let's see a few games that I play and the FPS:
Rainbow Six: On medium 60 fps constant
DayZ: On medium to High: 35-40-60 fps (Varies on in game location)
GTA V: Everything on medium and Textures on High: 60 fps but it constatly drops maybe to 30-40, if I put textures on medium it runs at constant 60)
Ghost Recon Wildlands: Now here I regret buying it before playing it: 20-30 fps on low (constant) and 30-45 on very low.
PU Battlegrounds: 40-50 on low, with constants stutters and fps drops (I know the game is not that optimized)
BF1: 50-60 fps on medium with a lot of stutter.
So what should I upgrade ? I don't do anything besides gaming and web browsing on my PC so I don't think I'm gonna need an I7. The GPU I think is also a bit faulty since when I play GPU intensive games I get some minor artifacts sometimes.
The fact that I don't have an SSD could be the cause to the stutters in most games.
Is my 8GB of RAM holding me back maybe ?
I'm not an expert in these kind of things so that's why I'm asking you folks.

The i5 4670 is a very capable CPU so is the R9 270X GPU. I would double up on the RAM to 16GB and get a SSD for faster loading times on your games. If you want to upgrade your GPU to see better performance you will need to have a look at the RX480 or the GTX1060.

the 2gb of vram hurts also. i find with new aaa games like resi7 and doom vulkan my gtx 950 2gb is hitting the 2gb wall. id be willing to bet if you got a 1050ti with 4gb vram youd see a difference in bf1 and constant 60fps in gtaV.

Agree with Chugalug and SkyNetRising, the main issue is the GPU, the rest of the system is very good for a gaming rig.
With no budget set and assuming a 60Hz 1080 monitor and in order from low to high cost:
AMD RX570 4Gb, much faster than the current part, expect smooth play in super demanding games like Wildlands at medium/high.
AMD RX580 or GTX1060 6Gb, faster than above, more likely to play smoothly at max settings.
GTX980Ti, some are still available, but don't overpay, plenty of them are priced well above the superior GTX1070.
GTX1070, overkill for most games at 1080 rez but it's unlikely you'll need to upgrade again for the life of the system, only really viable if you're already playing on a fast 1080 monitor or at higher resolutions.

To the above you should consider:
Adding 8Gb of memory. to avoid possible issues try to get 2 more matching sticks, if not available check the current part speed ratings and match those, ideal solution would be to replace the current parts with 2x8Gb sticks.
Add an SSD, nice but not top priority, also you may need to do a full HDD wipe and reinstall, cloning Windows to the new SSD may not be possible or even advisable.

The VRAM is a small problem right now, as most games require more than 2GB, the GTX 1060 3GB might do the trick
