Hi Everyone,

I'm planning to buy a Graphic Card, but its very expensive in India.

Either one of these:
1. Sapphire Nitro OC RX 480 8GB(with warranty in my country) for $325(INR 21000)
2. MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8G(with no warranty in my country, will Import it from Newegg) for $340(INR 22000)

or any other suggestion, I chose RX 480/580 above GTX 1060

My concern is whether I should Import one(without regional warranty from newegg.com) or buy one from a local shop, which is much expensive but with warranty.

My current specs:

Case: Cooler Master Elite 372
Motherboard: Asus Z97-K
Processor: i5-4690K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212X
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3
GPU: Nvidia GT 520(2GB DDR3){GTX 970 died a week ago}
PSU: Cooler Master Thunder 500W
HDD: WD 2TB(WD20EZRX)
Samsung 160GB(HD161HJ){from old pc}
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 120GB

Thanks in advance.

Solution
MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8G.....Would be a great fit with a better PSU.

I just picked up the Sapphire Nitro+ 580 LE.

1.Cooler Master Thunder 500W
2.ASUS GRAPHICS CARD PASCAL SERIES - GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 DC II OC STRIX EDITION(cheapest online) for $373(INR 24000) with warranty
MSI Armor 1060 6GB from local store for $342(INR 22000)
3. It just died, out of warranty so can't even get a replacement.

But, then I won't be able to play upcoming games with high texture quality. My friend's GTX 1060 3GB runs out of Vram in Hitman.
I think 4GB isn't future proof(I know nothing is), but 8Gb might give more life to the system.

Isn't RX 480/580 better than GTX 1060, also when considering DX12?

It's behind in DX11 titles, and nvidia are also working on DX12 optimisation:

The 1060 also tends to overclock better. But honestly, they are very very close and no matter which one you go for you'll get great performance.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I bought my PSU for $57, and just contacted the store I bought it from they are willing to buy it back for $23. Should I go for a new PSU and which one? If I'm willing to again overclock my CPU as well as the GPU.
If its in the budget I might go for RX480/580 plus the PSU.

Also, Is the warranty of the card necessary, because I haven't seen or had a card that went dead under the warranty period.
Because its much cheaper if I import it from amazon or newegg.

I would say yes to a power supply upgrade, but good quality PSUs are very expensive in India so you will probably have to import from newegg. Something like this would be ideal: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151096&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

But if you're looking locally then look for:
Corsair CXM series (not CX series)
Seasonic (any)
EVGA B2 or G2 series
Antec HCG series
Superflower (any)
Rosewill Capstone series
Thermaltake Toughpower series
XFX Pro core series

This card/cards is for 1080p@60Hz gaming.
there are only a couple of games that use over 4GB and that happens on 4K. So you are really going to be fine for 2-3 years with RX 580 4GB. and then you will want to upgrade the card anyway.

Non-Modular/Semi-Modular/Fully Modular?
Any specific model for each.
And is 650W sufficient?

Just contacted the shop, the'll revert me back with the cheapest 650W from your suggested series PSUs.
Also, do you think warranty is a must on GPU. Newegg takes guarantee for the "Dead on arrival" thing, and they'll reimburse me the return shipping cost(approx $60) in that case. Else I'll have to ship it.

Also RX480 8GB vs RX 580 8GB?

Ok, Thanks. Just one main concern, Should I Import a GPU(with no regional warranty) or buy from a local store. The difference of the price is $65+

Also any PSU suggestion?

Yes, and you both are awesome.
Final Decision:
1. Seasonic 620W for $76(after exchange of PSU for $23)
2. Sapphire Nitro OC RX 480 8GB(with warranty in my country) for $325(INR 21000)

Also I previously ordered the RX 480 4GB, will send it back.
