Crashing was replicated on different PC when my 980ti was installed into it, The crashing also stopped when I replaced the 980ti with a 760.
The bios update somehow broke my 980ti...

(in line images wernt working for me, so i did links, sorry for the inconvenience)
Specs
Windows 10 Pro
AMD Ryzen 1800x
Corsair Vengeance 32Gb RAM kit
GTX 980ti
GIGABYTE GA-AX370-GAMING 5
Extras

I recently build a PC about a month ago, My Motherboard Shipped with Bios Version F4, and i updated it to F5 yesterday. After the update, games started to crash 30sec-1min after 3D was used.

There was no BSOD in the crash, so no mem dumps, and nothing in the event Viewer.

I used the tools provided on the Motherboard Diver Disk to update the BIOS, GIGABYTE's @BIOS tool using the USA-NY server.

(my troubleshooting steps, in order from what i remembered)

First thing that i did was reverted my BIOS back to F4, and the issue continued.
I ran Cinebench Single core, Multi Core, then OpenGL - they ran fine
I then checked all the games i currently had installed
Games that crashed:
Overwatch
Guild Wars 2
Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop

Games that didn't crash:
Diablo 3
Dwarf Fortress
I ran Heaven Benchmark DX11 - Crashed
I ran Heaven Benchmark OpenGL - Crashed
I disconnected my HDDs, put a new one in, installed Windows 10 EDU, crashing continued
I ran ramcheck86, it ended fine
I tested my RAM one stick at a time, I stopped after 2 sticks, the issue was continuing with both sticks
I swapped my Bios to the Backup Bios (Dual Bio Chipset)
I re seated my GPU, still continued
I swapped the PCIe slot my GPU was in, still crashing
I turned GSync off, still crashed
swapped back to normal Bios, Reset CMOS, and restored factory defaults, game ran for about 2-3 min, then system crash again.

Im at a loss here, the last thing im going to try is swapping my 980ti to a 760 once my room mate wakes up.

[strike]Only other thing i can think of, is the Bios Update broke something on the chipset, so i would need to RMA it, and i dont want to wait another month to get a replacement.

Or Buy the cheapest Ryzen 5, and see if its my Ryzen 1800x.

Or, boot into Linux and see if it still continues[/strike]

Any Suggestions?

Update while i wait on the GPU:
Updated BIOS to F5 again, though USB and not @BIOS, game ran again for a few min, then crashed
turned off Core Performance Boost, SMT and turned the base clock down from 3.6GHz to 3GHz, still crashed (Video of HW monitor during crash)
Direct Link

Update:
Ran Furmaark for 16 min on its own, then ran Prime95 along side furmark, no issues at all
updated Direct X End User Runtime, crashed

which nvidia driver version do you have ?
You mentioned you reverted the bios, how did you revert it, through gigabyte update tool or did you download the bios directly ?
You will want to avoid the f5 bios it seems gigabyte is still having problems with it.

First update was Direct Download using the @BIOS tool that came on the MB driver disk
It gave me an option to backup my current BIOS, so i did, cant 100% remember, but i think i reverted back to my saved BIOS using @BIOS, cant 100% remember.

When i updated back to F5, it was a download from the website, and though USB

Kinda weird F5 is still having issues, would of thought they wouldn't of brought it out of beta then...

forgot to add:
Don't know what driver i had at the time (it was new-ish, that windows install was only appox. 1month old), but after the crashing started, i updated to the newest one at the time (381.65 i think?), then just grabbed the new one that released today again (381.89), didn't help

also wanted to add, didn't update to F5d, never touched it. updated from F4 straight to F5, didn't touch the Beta F5d

Alright lets go back to f4 for the time being, the reason why I said that, everything was working fine until you updated the bios to f5.

This driver from march 9th works great, I had it on there a few days ago with my gtx 750ti.
Part of the problem maybe coming from nvidia's 381.89, if the above drivers work use it for the time being until nvidia releases more stable drivers.
If the mobo is still flipping out call gigabyte and speak with the tier 2 technicians.
Explain the problem from the beginning and see what they think and recommend you to do.

Thank you for your suggestions!!

just submitted warranty request, i think my card is still in warranty.

i'm still really confused as to if the bios update caused this, or if it was just really bad timing, and to what triggers the crashing.

Lets wait to see what gigabyte will say and do when they get your motherboard.
It sounds like the motherboard is messed up, if the graphics card works fine elsewhere then it will fall back completely on the mobo.
If you think about it clearly enough, if you flashed back to F4, you would assume things would go back to normal right ?
Well it didn't,when you went back to F5, it still didn't function properly.
Its a brand new fresh out of the factory mobo, so gigabyte may have done something by accident.

Thats whats bothering me, the MB works fine!
the GPU is whats crashing, and crashes in other systems too.
The MB + the 760 was working fine.
the 980ti + anything doesn't.

Whats the brand name of the gpu card, also when did you purchase it ?
Once I know that I'll grab a phone number, you can get down on your knees, cry and beg the people to give you a full replacement for free because you didn't break it.
Joking about the knee part, but some companies are hard to deal with over the phone.
Especially when they don't feel like making good on warrenties you don't mess up with valid proof.

it was also Gigabyte, same as the MB
I already got in a RMA request for it, its still in warranty so i think i'm good!
(although i was hoping they would give me a 1080ti since its the same price as the 980ti ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
joking aside though, i dont think the 980ti is being sold via first party anymore so yea, if they have to give me a new one, i actually wonder how they're going to do that)

Unless gigabyte is fresh out of stock of 980ti, you will get the same product with a new revision update.
Otherwise they will step you up to a gtx 1050 and be done with it.

Alot of companies don't like to replace things, considering how much the parts cost to build it and ordering the parts from overseas.
Something to think about when you need repair work done or a replacement.
