i5-6600 overclocking with generic fan cooler?

I'm interested in overclocking my i5-6600. My hopes were a few MHz, but whereever I look I see results of up to 4.8 MHz (when stock value is only 3.3 MHz!). However, these people have insane watercoolers.

Since I've only got a somewhat generic fan cooler for 34€, I'm well aware I wouldn't reach remotely that much power. But that was never my goal, I would've been more than happy if I could increase it to up to 4 GHz.

Is it safe to do that with my cooler?

Turns out, it doesn't really matter. My BIOS version happens to be the one from November 2016: http://i.imgur.com/KxetMtL.png?1

It prevents downgrades to older versions where non-K CPUs could still be fondled with. Now the mainboard manufacturers were instructed to prevent people from messing with the BCLK and such, and I was stupid enough to update my BIOS before doing any research.

What do we learn? Buy K if you want to overclock or stop caring about it...
