Corsair CX450M (Gray letters) vs XFX TS 450 ?

Depends which the TS

There's the TS Gold and the TS Bronze.

The TS Gold would be superior

As for CXM vs. TS Bronze:
CXM is semi-modular and has better performance and newer design, including Dc-Dc converters but using a mix of very good and mediocre capacitors
The TS Bronze is non modular and based on Seasonic's S12II, older design, performance not as good in terms of voltage regulation for example but uses quality components throughout.
Personally I'd go with the Corsair (and I'm saying this owning both, a XFX PRO/TS Bronze and a XFX TS Gold)

Mister, there is no 450w gold ts

CXM review by tom's:
The CX650M is among the best bang for the buck PSUs available on the market today. It offers very good performance and it is silent enough, although it could be even more silent with a lower, minimum fan speed. At its current price it is very difficult to find a better unit, covered by a hefty five-year warranty.

XFX TS review by jonnyguru:
As we have shown here today, the XFX TS 650 is more than capable of supply it's 650 watts with some pretty good results when it comes to the voltage stability and ripple suppression. The down side is the amount of competition this thing has. You can spend a few more dollars and pick up a nicely featured fully modular unit with the same performance.

The ts450 is an old unit replaced by the core & pro series.
Don't confuse it with the 550 & 650 because its not even the same platform.

Group regulated 406w 12 v rail (at a push its a 430w unit at best) , 3 year manufacturers warranty & a single 6+2 pin PCI express connector.
Yes its a seasonic so its still very good quality.

The corsair is a modern dc-dc unit , twin 6+2 pin PCI express connectors, full 450w available on the 12v (actually tested to output 520w continous loads) , 5 year manufacturers warranty.

Ignore the shop warranty , your warranty is with corsair , unless you live in a third world country any RMA would be done directly with them .

Do you honestly trust your shop 4 years down the line to stand by their warranty if your PSU packs up ??
Because I wouldn't & I live in the uk where consumer law is incredibly stringent.
I have a feeling they are trying to offload their old stock on you.

@madmatt30: yes I do, thanks to the European Union. Shop warranty works pretty well in the EU.

Also the TS450 is the same platform as the TS550 (bronze), all are technically Seasonic S12IIs with a different cooling

Also Pro series is older than TS. When XFX entered the market with these units they were all Pro edition. I bought one of these back in 2009(?).
TS was the new Rebrand at least in central Europe.

But XFXs branding is kinda odd with the TS bases on the S12G being branded under the same series as the S12II rebrands

The CXM is the preferred unit in this case especially if cheaper

The corsair is €15 because its better.

@isokolen - the ts450 is more of a confusion than most though , specs/rails match the core 450 .
Never seen a seasonic unit with those rail ratings.
I have no doubt it is a seasonic but can't even find a review or stripdown of it.
The ts 430 would be easier because it is simply a s12 430 , same rail, same cable layout - not a unit I've ever recommended either with only 360w total on the 12v - any other manufacturer would get ripped for mis labelling , seasonic seem to get away with it.

I'm UK so at the minute still EU (for a little while) - we still have UK consumer law thought& it is a lot more stringent than anywhere else in the world .
I still would not trust a shop to honour a 5 year warranty though full stop (unless I had an extended warranty) .
I have no idea why an online store would even offer that as a standard warranty on the xfx which unless registered directly by the buyer with xfx is only warrantied for 3 years by the manufacturer.
Then to only offer 2 years on the corsair which actually has a 5 year manufacturers warranty as standard.

To me they're off loading old stock at a cheaper price , the corsair is still a better PSU at the end of the day.

Honestly i never had any issues with shop warranty. The upside of shop warranty is that they usually care about customer relations and even if manufacturer RMA (which I find shady from experience, a friend of mine RMA'd his tablet twice with Samsung as it was literally lagging when being in the menu and they 'couldnt find anything') doesn't work. The chance of getting a settlement on an ex gratia basis is more likely. But yeah it depends on the store you're buying from I guess.

As for mislabeling: the PSU can as I read it deliver nearly 450W just not all of it @12V. Therefore i wouldn't say it's a mislabel.

As for old stock, I've read somewhere that XFX is doing a complete lines overhaul on basis of Seasonic's new Prime line-up (which makes sense, can't imagine Seasonic producing any S12G-units anymore) and the price policy of Seasonic with their older units would suggest that. Selling old stock, then announcing the new series.
