Is anyone else having issues with the USB 3.1 ports on the ASRock Fata1ity Z270 k6 motherboard?

The port itself works, but not really. For example, I can plug one of my USB Type C devices into the port and it will charge, but the computer doesn't recognize that I plugged in a phone or tablet so I can't transfer files.

When it comes to connecting a RAID device, the device doesn't seem to get the signal from the motherboard to boot up, an issue I don't have when I plug the same device into the USB Type C port on my Dell XPS 15.

Any thoughts on why this port isn't fully working?

The type c port on the motherboard does not support Thunderbolt.
With your phone/tablet, I believe you have to manually change to a mode to allow transferring files on Android. You should typically get a notification when plugging into your pc. It normally defaults to charging mode.

Thanks! I realized shortly after I posted here that I had mistakenly thought the ASmedia USB Type C port also had Thunderbolt 3. I ordered the ASrock Thunderbolt 2 AIC and everything is working fine now except I still can't get my phone or tablet to be recognized by the USB C port. I will keep tinkering :)
