I have an intel DG965ot with Core 2 Duo E6700 Running on it , I am thinking of upgrading my cpu to Core 2 Quad as for my rendering needs.
I searched many websites for supported core 2 quad model but it is really confusing to me.
The first website i went through was http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel/DG965OT.html
On this website they didn't mention even core 2 duo as supported processor .
The second one was Intel's official website http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/desktop-boards/000006824.html
On this website they provided with some supported models which included Core 2 Quad Q6700 and Q6600 but funny fact is that Core 2 Duo E6700 is not even mentioned there ...
Now i am thinking whether my mobo supports other core 2 quad cpu than just Q6700 and Q6600 because My mobo runs E6700 perfectly fine while it is not even listed on supported processors on intel's official website.
And another thing is that if i use any newer core 2 quad on this mobo with FSB and Cache similiar to Q6700 , will there be any problem?
