what graphics card should i buy

Solution
I'd also recommend checking which processors your motherboard supports, and upgrade to a used i5 (2xxx or 3xxx series) for very little money. Or if you can spend a bit more (up to $300-$350)- a used i7 (same 2xxx or 3xxx series), with an RX470 would allow you to play modern games at very high quality settings at 1080p.

you can run pci express 3.0x16 cards in pci express 2.0x16.
you wont see much difference on your setup.

i would suggest to take a look at both gtx 1050 ti or rx 460( and rx 560 when they are out in may)

Yes it does. Just keep in mind it is backwards compatible and graphics memory is separate from your computer. For an i3 2100 try looking into a nvidia 650ti or maybe a 750ti without bottle-necking your computer too much, good luck!
