Pretty much the title says it all, I'm overclocking my 4770k and I just don't know at what voltage to stop, I've read trough about 500~ forum posts and I know as much as before I read all of them, I see a lot of people say don't go over 1.3 it's bad and others say as long as you stay under 1.4 you'll be fine. So yea, I've asked some pretty similar questions on this forum before but not the direct question of what I actually want to know so here it is: I want to use my 4770k that is 3.5 years old for 4~ more years, what voltage should I use in order to keep using my CPU for this time?

I'm sorry for all these similar questions, this is my last question i'm going to ask.

A lot depends on your setup, you can push more voltage if your keeping it cool with a AiO, custom loop or massive air cooler. Generally speaking, I would say nothing over 1.35v for a 24/7 OC. Main thing you'll want to watch for is temps, for longevity you'll wanna keep it under 80c.

I've OC'd a few haswells, and I've found that they'll hit a OC ceiling where the next mhz bump will require a huge voltage jump. Currently I'm running a 4790k @ 1.26v and 4.7ghz OC, to get it stable at 4.8 it takes 1.35v, so I just dropped it back down since my silicon clearly likes being at 4.7 better, you may encounter a similar situation.

I have the NZXT Kraken X61 as cooler so temps aren't much of a problem, they never go above 80 in aida64 and 85 in prime95 both after 20min, I'm just kinde worried about electromigration, i've read about people that had to downclock their cpu after a year while running at 1.37v and other that ran their 4770k at 1.4v for 1.5 years and didn't have any problems.

I think my 4770k is not a real good overclocker: 4.3ghz@1.175v 4.5ghz@1.29v and 4.6ghz@1.332v

I need to ad 0.055v~ for every 100mhz i add.

So when not looking at temps, what voltage should i stop at for 3~4 years of use? will 1.332v be ok or should i stick to 1.29v?

If your going for longevity, I'd stay at 4.5ghz and the lower voltage, that extra 100mhz isn't gonna make a big difference and the lower voltage can't hurt with durability.
