The K550s haven an impedance of 32 Ohms, very low, you'll be fine to use them on your phone.
However note that depending on the age of the smartphone and make, the sound quality will not be as good as on a PC, but it should still be fantastic.
Headphones are a matter of taste, especially for music.

Google "www.head-fi.org wired vs wireless" and read a few of the hits.

I use wired headphones for music. But if I had a good wireless headphone there are many times I'd gladly use it instead of my wired headsets.

You can likely get whatever sound you want in either wired or wireless.

update: Aside - My primary headphone is a Sennheiser hd580 which is an ancient headphone. I drive it from either the headphone jack on an onkyo receiver from digital over HDMI or from a headstreamer external dac/amp. The headstreamer sounds better than the onkyo (surprise to me) and both sound better than the PC sound output (no surprise). When you look into headphones, balance your purchases between the headphone cost and how you are driving the headphones. Bluetooth headphones do not need an amp or external dac, the signal stays digital until it hits the headphone itself. $100 for a headphone DAC/amp + $150 for the headphone compares to a $250 bluetooth headphone.
