Hi I bought a MX300 750GB last year and installed windows 7 on it, but never bothered to benchmark the thing. Today I was running some benchmarks after installing my new gfx and realized that my SSD is performing way below standards. The SSD has the latest drivers and firmware installed according to Crucial Storage Executive tool and I changed my SATA from IDE to AHCI as it suggested. I haven't really followed any SSD optimization guides after installing it, but I am surprised to see that my drive is performing so slow. Below is the screenshot for the numbers I got. I ran it a couple times and it seemed to give me roughly the same results.

SEQ Q32T1: Read:265.3 MB/ Write: 251.0 MB
4K Q32T1: 124.3/132.9
SEQ: 263.8/243.3
4K: 22.88/51.27

From benchmarks I have seen from others it seems like they are getting double my numbers, do I have to do something to make my drive perform better or do I need to get a replacement?
Thanks.

I am running a FX 8320 on a ASUS M5A78L-M BTW.

EDIT: After reading some things I am thinking that my speed is limited because my MoBo only has SATA 3gb/s instead of the 6gb/s support. If this is the reason please let me know.

Solution
Yes, that's one of reasons together with lower performance on older AMD chipsets. If you compare it to a SATA3 performance you'd see that only sequential speed is greatly reduced and other ones, specially 4K reads and writes are more important. Fastest part of SSDs comparing to HDDS is access time.
