Hi Everyone,

I just bought a new monitor that is 4k 144hz and when I increased my display settings my CPU went up to 71 and GPU 78. I am concerned that this will damage my computer since the CPU Max temp was listed as 72.72.

Do I just need a better cooling system or is could it have something to do with another piece of hardware?

Specs: *(Not sure what else may be helpful)
Processor: Intel i5-4690k
Motherboard: Asus H97-Plus
Graphics: Geforce GTX 950

Thanks for your help!

I went out and bought the Coolmaster Hyper 212 EVO and installed that as well as picked up the NZXT H440 Midtower - It came with 3 intakes on the front and 1 exhaust on the back - I added two exhausts on the top.

This brought the CPU temp down significantly and now maxes out at 45 but my GPU is still up in the mid 70's. Is it just my graphics card is not good enough?

Right now I am mainly playing overwatch but I want to be able to play more graphically demanding games as well. thoughts?

Try playing around with the Hz and stepping down until your GPU finally agrees with you temp-wise, because 144Hz is considerably taxing on a card such as the one in question. Your card is not bad per se, because it does up to 5120x3200/60 but the problem is the 60 cap, which means your GPU now has to work harder than the hardest it's designed to work.

No, it has lots of space around it and I don't overclock it. Also made sure there wasn't any dust.

Hi Sammy, Thanks. Guess I will need to get a 10 series before moving up to the 144hz.
