I bought a second hand xbone from a guy who said he had had training in fixing consoles and he sold reconditioned stuff. When I tried to play a game on disc nothing happened. Tried to call him etc, no answer. So I bought a new drive. I've just swapped out the drive along with the logic board inside the drive. It's doing exactly the same as before. I'm now thinking he had just put in a different drive and not swapped the logic board. So now i'm stuck with two none original optical drives. Is there anything I can do?

First, keep calling him. If he is a legitimate business hopefully he is just busy and will call you back. Eventually.....
Second, if you have tinkered with the Xbox (albeit new, used, reconditioned) all warranties are likely "off".
Third, additional troubleshooting is needed to determine if the problem is the drive, the logic board, or something else; e.g., power supply.
About all you can do, as I understand it, is to swap out components or otherwise troubleshoot until some specific component is identified as the failure point.
Start looking into filing a complaint with respect to the local BBB (if applicable). Keep calling the "guy" and document all your actions very accurately and honestly.
