Hey guys , I have a NAS NSS4000 model from LINKSYS and I can not access it.
When I turn it on without USB, it loads etc and when is system boot fully, appear the SYSTEM
LED in orange color.

If I try to do a "reeboting" or "upgrading" with the usb that contains the file vmlinux (that i supposs is the most modern version idk), finally when it finishes the load, the SYSTEM led appears in orange too.

The "reeboting" and "upgrade" I did as indicated on this page https://www.manualslib.com/manual/292295/Linksys-Nss4000.html?page=5#manual
And the upgrade i did only the first part because I can not access to "Linksys One Environment Login Steps" only the pass of wait 13 minutes.

I have tried to access my NAS as stated in the manual http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/storage/nass/csbcdp/nss/nss4000_nss6000/getting_started/guide/linksys_gs_feb0708.pdf

According to the manual there are two ways:

Option A that is not possible in my case because I can not access to my router in my enterprise.
Option B is done through http: // NAS <MAC address> where the mac is on the device and in addition it had to change to 169.254.x. and that can be between 1 and 254 and the mask 255.255.0.0 ..

This manual also mentions "To restore the network setting system defaults"
But neither with those.

I am testing with, the NAS and my PC connected to the switch where on this switch is too connected to another switch and this last switch to the enterprise server.

The thing is that I have tried everything, cleaned inside, looking in forums....but anyway, I do not know if I do not have the lastes firmware version, I do not know if there is something broken inside i dont know pffff.

Does anyone know of any possible solutions? Maybe some file?

Thank you.

It is not clear from your posting but if your goal is to recover your data you might try RAID recovery software like R-Studio / UFSexplorer / GetDataBack.

And FYI the LINKSYS NSS4000 operates using Linux Software RAID aka mdadm. And your data is stored on a Linux XFS filesystem.

If you get stuck or need further help I do a lot of remote NAS / RAID data recovery work and am happy to help.

Step one is to extract the RAID member drives from the NAS and connect them to SATA ports on a desktop computer. Then you can use RAID recovery software. Or if you are proficient with Linux you can boot up a Linux distro like Ubuntu and attempt to recover.

But a word of warning. Most will advise you to take drive images before proceeding so you have a backup. In general if this is high value data and you are not experienced in this area you should seek the help of a professional.
