The PSU is a very very bad place to skimp. A poor quality PSU will have longevity issues(fail early), have voltage regulation a ripple issues that will cause system stability issues and they can also damage the other components in the system. A generic pile can be dangerous at any load so just because its advertised size is overkill doesn't mean it not a danger to the system.
The W series(made by HEC) from EVGA are not good units, infact they were considered the worst ones EVGA sold till they came out with the BQ series(made by Andyson). You can't always go by brand name EVGA has PSUs all over the scale from poor to excellent because they use multiple OEMs. Seasonic and Superflower make the best EVGA units.
