Hello Everyone!

I am looking to do a new Ryzen build. In my budget I can fit the 1600 and 32GB's of RAM or the 1700 and 16GB's of Ram. I have being digging around and it seems like if you are gaming currently 16 is enough, but in the next two to four years do any of you think the demand for RAM will get to the point that I would be better off with the slower/smaller CPU? Obviously I would get both if I could afford it :) rough being a student.

Definitely no need for more than 16GBs for gaming. Games just started to gain slight benefit from having 16GB over 8GB. So 16GB should be enough for ~5 more years, especially considering that most titles are now multiplatform (have to run on PC, PS4, XBOX), and even the yet unreleased Xbox Scorpio has just 12GBs total of any RAM.

I don't think the demand will rise to 32Gb for several years. A better processor would be the best solution for your current situation. Since ram is utilized mostly by open programs, you should be fine unless you like to run 50 different programs at the same time.
