I have to replace my ASUS Z87-Pro motherboard, and would like some advice on the best replacement with the least disruption. I would just like to unplug, swap it out, and plug everything back in if possible. CPU is I5-4570. Not a gamer. Thanks
If you swap out the motherboard you're going to have to get a new Windows license unless you have a retail copy that can be moved from PC to PC. As far as the current Windows installation goes, you can pretty much swap a motherboard and not have to reinstall if you use the same chipset (Z87 or Z97). Brand really doesn't matter. I'd just go for the cheapest - this ASUS Z97 is just $79.99 after a $30 rebate:

For that you would replace it with the same board.
If your board is working you will gain nothing by replacing it.
its not working, and cant buy the same board anymore .. that's why I'm asking
Then you might and might have to do a fresh windows install, if the license will not activate then call MS and tell them your board died and is no longer available they will give you a activation code.
