My current system is as follows.
Antec 300
SSD
8gigs of ddr3-1600
3570k@ 4.2ghz
gtx 1070
Asrock Extreme 4
Before the value of my processor, ram, and mobo diminish to the point where they are worthless i would like to upgrade to put that money towards a new build. The thing is i mostly game and so far this rig has served me well. I am currently playing RE7, Doom, and Elite Dangerous but i am always picking up new games that catch my interest.
My question is would upgrading to the AMD 1600X or equivalent combined with newer ddr4 ram be a solid performance increase? I would also like to have a mobo that supports the newer pcie SSD drives that are out and my mobo doesn't. (Officially)
So what do you do when your system is aging gracefully but still plays all your games very well? I know a year or two down the line i am going to need to upgrade and by then my parts won't be worth anything. Should i upgrade?
