Problem with cpu supporting by mainboard

Hi. I have a ECS mainboard model 945pt-a2/1333 v1.1 . I want upgrade my cpu to intel core 2 quad Q9600 3.0 ghz. My mainboard support this cpu? Or not? Now I use Pentium D945 3.4 GHZ and mainboard haven't any problem with this.

It may work. I don't know. All I can say is the manufacturer doesn't support it. First the part number is a QX6800 not EX6800 (Yes, I know it says EX on the manufacturer's site). But there is no such thing as an EX6800 ... I am skeptical about the support for the QX6800. It says 75W on the motherboard manufacturer's site, but Intel says that is a 130W CPU. The clock speed matches a QX6800. If you want something that has a chance of being stable, I would go with the Q6700.

before any thing thank you for helping! This mainboard support quad core cpu but I don't know why don't support Q9650. May it work on this mainboard? If not which suppurted cpu is better for me Intel core 2 quad Q6700 or EX6800
