Hi there,

I'm currently running a Gigabyte FORCE K83 (Cherry MX Blues) and it's been acting strangely recently. After about eight months of smooth operation, it's decided to start being a little bit weird. Everyone once in a while the number 3 will be spammed continuously

3333333333333333333333333333333333333333

What I've been doing recently to alleviate these problems is going into device manager, removing all "HID Keyboard Devices" and detecting new hardware again. This seems to stop it, but then it would pop up again in about three or four days. Restarting my computer also seems to stop it for a little while.

I've done some blowing and a tad bit of cleaning, but as far as I've noticed, nothing has been spilled and no one else uses my computer/keyboard setup.

Now, I haven't contacted Gigabyte yet because I was hoping I could either have it pass or find a solution within the community.

Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you try updating the keyboard drivers? Did you try the keyboard on another computer? Or another keyboard on you computer. See if the problem stays with the keyboard or with the computer.

Not sure what you may have fully done with respect to cleaning per se...

Blowing it out may simply have lodged some debris even moreso with respect to the "3" key.

However, unplug the keyboard and turn it upside down over paper towels or a cloth.

Firmly but gently tap the sides and ends with the heel of your hand.

Watch crud fall out.....

If the "3" key continues to stick consider prying off the cap(s) and taking a closer look. Could be the keyboard "3" or the number pad "3"
