Hi,

I have just bought a brand new WD blue 1tb Hard Drive.

When I installed it on my computer I got this error "Power Supply Surges detected during the previous power on.
ASUS Anti-Surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit! ".

First, I thought that it can be my computer because the hard drive is new. But when I installed the old hard drive again, all works perfect.

I tried installing the new hard drive in the same place (and same cables) that the oldest one but I kept the same error. I tried to install it in other sata with new cables but, same result.

Motherboard: asus m4n68t-m le v2
Power Supply: sentey atx 600 p4

Sorry for my bad english. My first language is spanish!

Thanks,

Solution
I would say it doesn't matter how long ago you bought it, it's still an unstable power supply.

Though it's possible your new HDD is bad.... it shouldn't be able to draw enough power to set that off unless the PSU was busted.

I bought the PSU about 1 year ago and it's working fine with the old hard drive. The problem is with the new one.

By the way, the old hard drive is a WD blue 500 gb and the new one is a WD blue 1tb (same voltage).
