I made my first build this evening, and when i got ready to boot the pc up. It never even booted to bios. The Q-code LED said 00 which equals to 'Not used'. Since the motherboard doesn't have any options to connect it to a display without a GPU, i therefore can't test if it's my GPU.

I've tried to use both 8/12 pins connected to the cpu. Neither didn't change the result. I've tried re-allocating the ram. That didn't yield any results.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JRW6Fd <- That's the build i'm trying to run.

Thanks for your help in advance

IF the CPU LED is on then the system is not getting past eh CPU test part of POST. so either the CPU or the motherboard is the issue or there is a power issue. Be sure all power connectors are plugged in all the way, 24 pin, 8 pin + 4 pin EPS and the GPU power.

EDIT: what BIOS does that board have installed on it? you can tell by looking on the BIOS chip on the board itself.
BIOS needed for Core i7-6800K (3.4GHz, L3:15M, 6C, HT, 140W, rev.R0): 0222

here is the reason I ask: Some Intel X99 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Broadwell-E CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

Had the same problem on TWO Asus Strix x-99 boards and a 5820k. Tried everything everyone told me, turned out the board not only stopped, working, it also fried the CPU both times. I tested this by going to a local PC and paying them about $50 to test the mobo and CPU with their own working CPU's and mob's. I was told both were dead, both times.

Not trying to bash Asus, as I had been a lifelong Asus customer until that point. But RMAed the mobo through Newegg and got an EVGA board. I contacted Intel, they offered to pay me what I paid or next day air me one from them. Anyway, once I restarted with a new chip and EVGA mobo i haven't had any problems.

I hope it's not this but if it is, I'm sorry.

While i was waiting for replies, i looked around. And i tried stripping it down to what you suggested, however no result. I forgot to note, that the CPU LED is lit when i turn it on, and it never turns it self off again, it just stays at Qcode 00 and a lit cpu led until i turn it off myself.
On top of that, cpu fans starts when i start the pc.

Edit, it's a botting rig :)
