RYZEN 1800x X370-PRO 64gb RAM visible on cpu-z but only 32 bios/windows

Hi everyone, i just bought a asus prime x370 pro, ryzen 1800x and 64 gb of ram 4* 16 ADATA XPG (AX4U2400316G16-SBF). This is the first computer i build. All seems to work fine except the RAM.. the problem is that i can only get 49GB to work (3 ddr4)...when i connect the 4th dimm the ram goes back to 32 GB. Any suggestions?? i updated to the most recent bios, i tested all of them and individually they work fine on their own, but it seems that every time i put the final dimm it goes back to 32GB

Pretty sweet you got an upgrade though. Not to be a pain, but you still can't conclude that the board was faulty without trying other ram. Some boards are more lenient with ram than others. That particular board may not have liked the variation in manufacturing.

I hate to break it to you, but you should never buy ram separately. Even if you buy the same module 4 times, they may not work properly together. That's why they make ram in kits. It is tested together and ensured to work together. Return the 4 sticks you bought if you still can. I can almost guarantee that is the issue. I've already reviewed your motherboards manual. Even the manual recommends using modules with the same data code and version, which basically means a kit.

Mmm all the memories are the same and get recognized in the bios. (i mean they get recognized on the list, but the total sum only says 32gb).. and in window.s.and in cpu-z ....the issue is that in windows of the 64 only 32 are usable....but if i remove the ram from the third slot of the x370 pro, and just leave 3....the bios/windows check all the ram and everything seems to work fine a 49GB....

when i connect the fourth dim, i go back to only 32gb usable... so i don't see how the issue, is the ram itself... maybe some bios configuration or a faulty x370 pro.... since the third slot seems to kill the fourth...

the seller ended up upgrading my board to the crosshair vi hero for the inconvenience, and because he didn't had another x370 to test on...

I understand your point, and i think your recommendations is valid 99% of the time since its safer to buy kits, and the next time i surely follow your advice!, but this time it seems the prime x370 pro was faulty, and the main problem was that one slot was failing, and not only ignored the ram, but also affected the neighbor slot, so this time the issue was the board..

Anyway, thanks for your response!! i was really worried...because it was the first time i built a computer. But well at least i learned a lot of stuff
