Hey guys,
Any chance you could help me, as I need to know if the corsair mp500 128 Gb SSD will work in my Asus e3 pro gaming v5 MB,
Thanks,

Hey Allfather
Your motherboard doesnt support the NVMe protocol (slim chance for firmware updates...), and also your M2 slot is PCIe 3.0 x2, but the corsair ssd is PCIe 3.0 x4.
I don't know if it will even see the SSD, but if it does, it will be slower than its capable of, and you wont be able to boot from it.

"Without an NVMe-aware BIOS, you can’t boot from an NVMe drive, though anyone with a x4 PCIe slot or M.2 connector can benefit from employing an NVMe drive as secondary storage"

Hi and sorry for late reply.
I'm in the same boat as you. I thought my motherboard supported NVMe, but sadly it doesnt.
Gonna look around for options, as i'm about to order myself, i'll let you know what i find today or tomorrow.

I found something interesting. A lot of 3rd party sites claim your mobo has NVMe support! It's really weird, can't find anything official. All the official specs dont mention it.
You really better contact Asus and ask. If you have it supported, it would be a waste not to use it.
Corsair mp500, or samsung evo 960 would be a good choice if you confirm NVMe compatibility with Asus
