Recently my computer has randomly started getting the grey (sometimes it is slightly green or purple!) screen of death, where lots of vertical lines appear on my monitor, my machine will then hang for a few seconds before rebooting itself. This seems to happen mostly just after boot up, after the computer has been idle for a while or when I boot up certain games such as League of Legends etc. It is frustrating as reading through so many posts on forums, I have no idea what could be causing it and it has started to trip the whole internet in the house when it crashes? I am worried the constant crashing could potentially fry some other components so want to get this fixed but I do not know where to start without throwing loads of money at it to swap in and out parts till I find the culprit! From reading forums people suggest it could be one of the following:
1) Bad drivers – I have uninstalled and re-installed all drivers
2) Bad memory
3) A dying graphics card
4) A faulty psu

Any advice on how to identify / fix the issue will be greatly appreciated!

I am not sure but from what you have said I would take a guess at it being the PSU my info on PSU's
PSU Tier list tier 1-2 are good for gaming
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

I would recommend an EVGA SuperNova Gold G2 / GS / GQ, Platinum P2 / PS, or Titanium T2 or a Seasonic M12-II Evo or S12-II

GOOD PSU EVGA is a B2, G2, G3, P2, GS, PS, or T2. Avoid the EVGA B1 and G1 series
