I just don't know how to fix the standoff on the mobo. It will not stay in place. No holes on the case for this stuff. Am I using the right standoff & screw ??

M2 drive :intel 600p series
Mobo: Supermicro c7h170-m
case : Antec VSK3000-U3

Thanks for your help !!

Solution
The correct standoff for M.2 drive should come with motherboard. Often it is already screwed to motherboard, and in fact I think it is - the 3rd hole has (unless I'm blind), So you just need to unscrew the standoff from 3rd hole, move it to 2nd hole as your drive is 80mm long and that's it.
In case I am blind and there's no standoff at 3rd hole, it should be somewhere in motherboard box, as standoffs for SSD always come with motherboard.
And finally, the look of your SSD suggests it also has an extra standoff already screwed to it.

And nice cat you have, btw.

Looks like the standoff is off the motherboard for some reason. You need to go under the motherboard and attach the standoff that is on the drive itself. The thing is that the drive does not come like that. The standoff should be in the motherboard along with the screw, the drive comes with just the drive. Is this used? Did you already try to connect it and pulled it out?

Thank you.I had to remove everything related to the mobo again to put back the M2 standoff. Actually, you need to put it before placing the motherboard in the case...just like any other standoff...Unfortunately I had to bring the computer to the store for a BIOS problem...I needed a Skylake (6th gen) CPU to flash the BIOS for the mobo to accept Kaby Lake CPU. They've charged me $30 for that :( :(

I don't know how to close this thread...I just picked a solution. I guess that's all...?

Thank you guys...
