What should I Upgrade first?

In my PC I'm currently running:

GPU: GTX 970 Windforce
CPU: i5 4590k @ 4.5Ghz
RAM: 8GB Gskill
Case: NZXT S340
CPU cooler: Corsair H100
Monitor: Sony TV

What should I upgrade first in my system? I play VR on my vive quite frequently, and would like to supersample.

You want to go to at least 16GB of RAM, and then the GPU should be in the 10 series, possibly the 1070. You may can get away with the RX 580, depending on how you want do VR, the GTX is probably the better choice here.

Everything else is just fine.

The GPU for your stated purposes, a 1070 like said above would be a good fit. 1080s are also getting cheaper. Some games like bf1 for example will use 8gb of ram, I doubt many VR games will but it may become necessary to upgrade your ram at some point.
