Hi, I'm not great at this stuff so please bare with me. I have noticed people giving mixed answers as to what this liquid is that I'm seeing on my mobo, I've not had this issue before and the only thing I'm noticing between my post and some others is our coolers are the bulky style. I have recently replaced my stock cpu cooler for a be quiet slim which sits with the fan pointing up from the bottom rather than the side. Could this be the cause of the liquid? Or is it a capacitor? (no clue) I'll be quite shocked if this is due to overheating in my tower as I have 2 top and one back exhaust and 2 intakes at the front aswell as a cpu fan on the cooler. (Tried to add pictures but can't seem to directly)

Thanks in advance for any advice as I am worrying to use it now

Solution
Its a flux substance used in the cleaning process of the heatsinks when the board was made. Heat from the VRMs eventually causes it to spread from under the heatsink. Its non conductive and harmless. Clean it off with some alcohol if it bothers you. If it really worries you RMA it (if still in warranty). If the motherboard is working properly I'd just clean it off.

What liquid ? Picture if possible please.

At the moment I think you are just seeing a little bit of thermal interface material pushing out of the side of the heatsink, however, no one can really answer without a picture.

pic would help. Leaking caps would appear to be domed and the liquid brownish in color.
