Hello! I'm quite new to the gaming community so I'm also planning on buying a new graphics card.
I bought a simple prebuilt asus pc a year ago and now i want to upgrade (if it's even possible) but i'm not sure if a graphics card is going to fit physically and compatibility.
I'm planning on getting a gtx 1050 ti
my current specs are: i5-7400 @ 3.00GHz , 8GB RAM & the graphics card is a normal intel 630 hd

Solution
First thing, you would need to check if there's PCIe x16 slot on motherboard (should be, but just to be sure) so you can connect it.
Second, you need to measure what space inside case you have for GPU, so it will physically fit.
And finally you need to check out if your PSU is good enough to provide power for GPU.
