Will the Logisys PS480D2 480W work with The XFX R7 260x Double Dissipation? The minimum power needed to use the GPU is 500W but I'm really not so sure it won't work.

Thanks for the reply, now what would happen if my computer did that, went over the wattage? Would it restart? I know you recommended me that psu, but I'm running low on money (I'm 15). I just want to know the worst-case-scenario so I know what to expect. Again, thank you very much.

Logisys is a bottom end brand, so with that brand of PSU expecting it to ouput HALF of its stated wattage will eventually cause the PSU to die, execpt junk PSUs like that dont contain the overload, they allow the rest of your parts to get fried as well, possibly even start a house fire.

So to put it simply saving $20-30 today is going to cost you hundreds in replacing computer parts tomorrow (or insurance claim on your burnt down house).

PSUs are not created equally and you should not use anything but a quality PSU for something like gaming, even more so if you plan to overclock because you need not only reliable power but very stable voltages. The EVGA unit suggested above is by far better, but not really quality either, it wont fry your system but it wont hold up to sustained load and have premature death.
EVGA B2/G2/G3 are good units, typically the cheapest quality PSUs are Seasonic S12/M12 or Corsair CX550

Yeah, I get that. But are you absolutely sure that 20 Watts will really make the difference? Have you actually done other research to support your claim? You are just making an opinionated statement about Logisys, which sort of goes against their claim of a 480W maximum power payout. I don't know, I just feel like 20 Watts won't hurt my system as much as you portray it does. Thanks for the reply.

How do you know Logisys's claim of 480Ws is legit though?

We're getting a bit off topic, but if Logisys's claim of 480W was not true, wouldn't they be sued for false advertising by now?

First off: A little rude telling me that I don't know anything about PSUs, I do, so don't go saying stuff without prior knowledge
Second: I have read an article on this exact PSU model, and you are correct, it can barely even get 400 Watts
But: I have done some research on the TDP of the GPU, and its TDP is 115W. My CPUs power consumption is an average of 74 Watts (A6-Kaveri 7400K). When very stressed, it takes up about 85 Watts. There are some things left to account for, as such as Ram, Motherboard, Fans, and Hard drive, but that is a total of 200W for both the CPU and the GPU combined. The TDP really helps in situations like this because PSU companies don't give honest Wattage estimates. Tell me if I'm wrong but I think this is a pretty valid point. I don't have enough power demanding components in my computer in order for anything bad to really happen.

Doesn't matter, the ripple suppression on that PSU will be such trash it'll probably kill your GPU in under a year. Additionally, these Logisys PSUs don't even have complete transient filters, which means other electronics on the same grid like televisions, microwaves, etc. can all be affected.

Ok, I still have not told anyone that I only plan to keep this PSU for maybe a month, at most a month and a half! You said it would kill my GPU in a year! Sounds like a solution to me! By the way, it does have a transient filter, and it's pretty remarkable for the price. If this won't kill my GPU in about a year while i'm trying to get a new PSU, then it will be fine! All I'm worried about is my computer going over its wattage. Here is an article on the PSU if you need any more info on it.

Hilarious! You actually did a review on almost the exact model! Look, I want to buy a new PSU and I will ASAP but for now, my PC takes up about 380W, and it should be okay to use. I will take your advice, and get a new PSU. You should really tell people what experience you have in this field so they believe you.
