Updated to Ryzen and GTA V now gives me under 20 FPS

Hi everyone,

I recently updated my fx 8350 cpu to a ryzen 5 1600.
With my gtx 970 my fx 8350 would give me about 40 fps.
Now on the same settings the ryzen is giving me under 20.
Please could somebody help me.

You've got a great new system, backup any files you may need but do a full reinstall of OS and programs as well treat your new build like it's special.

I checked and the game settings haven't changed.

I also did not reinstall Windows however I did replace drivers manually and stress tested with good results.

Ok so I did some digging and I found out that my cpu peak speed is fluctuating from a gigahertz to 3.3. Could someone help me understand why.

I have decided to go ahead and do a system reinstallation.
Quick question before I do it though. Do you think that it would be safe for me to backup my registry and install it after reinstalling my OS. Therefore, allowing me to just copy over my program's files over and allow them to work. Or should I just re-download all programs from the official download sites?

Thank you for clarifying what files I can backup. I'm going to create a bootable disk and reinstall my OS.
